Santa Fe Springs, CA - Whittier Filtration, a subsidiary of Veolia Water Solutions & Technologies, now offers MPPE technology in North and South America. The patented unique MPPE technology is a flexible and robust process used to separate dissolved and dispersed hydrocarbons from water. MPPE is used around the world for offshore and onshore produced water applications, as well as wastewater and groundwater treatment.

MPPE technology is based on extraction. Porous polymer cylindrical particles act as carriers for a nontoxic and biodegradable extraction medium that absorbs and extracts hydrocarbons from water. The polymer particles are capable of reducing contaminant concentrations in water by a factor of more than one million, which means that concentrations of thousands of parts per million (ppm) can be lowered to below one part per billion (ppb). This is done in only one pass. It is a continuous process with in situ regeneration of the MPPE material. Aside from creating clean water for recycling or discharge, the water purification unit also yields nearly 100% pure hydrocarbons suitable for reuse.

MPP Systems, based in the Netherlands, is the developer of the MPPE technology and is now a subsidiary of Veolia Water Solutions & Technologies. The MPPE technology is provided by Whittier Filtration in North and South America.
