Industrial Communications Bridge

The Model 8051 Industrial Communications Bridge provides a one-device solution that integrates incompatible PLC, DCS, RTU, and SCADA systems easily, neatly and cleanly for the user. It is designed to meet a variety of communications needs and can increase system performance, improve response time and efficiently connect different types of equipment together into a fast and reliable communications system.

Today’s plants and facilities require data from a variety of devices to be accessible in a number of locations, the central control office, supervisor’s PC, plant operations, etc. The Model 8051 Communications Bridge not only ensures devices to interface with each other but also to send data via Ethernet to other systems.

As a protocol translator the Model 8051 bridges high-speed, networking applications over RS232, RS422, RS485 or Ethernet communications links. As a port expander, the Model 8000 allows multiple master devices to access multiple slave devices simultaneously. Multi-protocol support or port sharing, allows a single serial port to communicate with many different types of RTUs. Throughput on the system is increased dramatically through the use of a proprietary poll-block caching.

The Model 8051 comes with 8 RS232 serial ports, 2 RS485 optically isolated serial ports, 2 10Base T Ethernet ports and connector for a redundant hot standby bridge.
