Datasheet: CeraMem Silicon Carbide Ceramic Membranes

CeraMem® ceramic membrane technology is now available with silicon carbide (SiC) membranes that are based on the existing platform of ceramic oxide membranes. These new membranes provide excellent performance for both microfiltration (MF) and ultrafiltration (UF) applications involving separation of feed streams and/or operating environments not suitable for conventional ceramic and polymeric membrane systems.

Capable of operating in a pH range of 0-14, these membranes are ideal in applications requiring cleaning regimens using caustic soda or the treatment of strong alkaline process streams. Those applications include treatment of produced water and desalter bottoms as well as process streams found involving metal working fluids.

As with all CeraMem ceramic membranes, SiC membranes provide excellent performance in treating process fluids containing oils and greases.

Features and Benefits:

  • Increased permeability
  • Faster restoration / recovery rates of flux
  • High resistance to abrasion and thermal shock
  • Flexibility in cleaning and regeneration
  • Compact footprint and high membrane packing density
