Wilden Pump & Engineering Co. Pump & Engineering Company M.025 and M1 (1/4" and 1/2") carbon-filled acetal pump models have been designed specifically for explosive and hazardous environments. These air-operated, double diaphragm pumps can be used where non-conductive plastics may be unacceptable due to static electricity discharge. Adding carbon material to acetal plastic minimizes the potential for a static charge build-up that could spark and ignite a combustible mixture.
As per the standard testing method ASTM D257, the surface resistivity of carbon-filled acetal is 102 - 106 ohms/sq. A one piece manifold design reduces potential leak paths. The patented Wil-seal O-ring gland configuration employs inboard and outboard O-rings for increased sealing capability in applications with liquids having a specific gravity of less than 1. Wilden carbon-filled acetal pumps utilize a truly lube-free air distribution system, run at variable speed and pressure, run dry and self prime, and do not utilize leak prone dynamic seals.
