According to the supplier, extremely high capacities (>40 gpm/ft2) are possible because of low flow resistance. Narrow density differences and low interfacial tensions can also be handled.
These extraction columns operate with no moving parts, which can be useful for applications involving high pressure and temperature. Depending on the extraction application, various packing types, sizes and materials are available, allowing for varying requirements of mass transfer efficiency, column capacity and corrosion resistance.
