As workstations and servers for prepress, graphics, video, animation, and simulation have become increasingly powerful; the files created on these systems have gotten correspondingly larger. At the same time, workflows in these disciplines have become more and more network-dependent, placing unprecedented demands on traditional local area networks (LANs). While large-capacity disks and RAID subsystems have managed to keep up with raw storage demands, traditional LANs have proven inadequate for transporting large-scale files in a multi-user environment. • Host bus adapters provide high-speed Fibre Channel connections for workstations and servers. Customers can choose between a copper or optical fiber interface depending on their needs.
• A high-performance hub provides status and diagnostic LED's at each port with sophisticated loop integrity features.
• InterRAID: The company offers a choice of high-capacity storage systems, including the InterRAID IR 9FL, a high-speed JBOD array that offers ultimate storage capabilities. The new InterRAID IR 12 FF is an all-Fiber-Channel RAID storage system that offers both high speed, redundancy, and expandability in a deskside or rackmount configuration.
