Genscape Launches Expanded Mexico Natural Gas Product Extending Coverage Across The Country

In response to the developing need for Mexican market transparency, Genscape, Inc., the world’s leading provider of real-time data and intelligence for commodity and energy markets, launched Mexico Natural Gas, the first product offering daily modelled estimates of Mexican natural gas supply and demand using data from 20 Mexican pipelines and three LNG terminals.

Louisville, KY (PRWEB) - Mexico energy markets are undergoing significant liberalization and privatization reforms after nearly a century of being state-run, due in part to new reforms designed to stimulate investment in and revitalize Mexico’s energy sectors with the hopes of delivering more reliable, lower cost energy sources to Mexican energy consumers. Mexico’s natural gas market is one of the pinnacle pieces of this reform, opening a roughly eight billion cubic feet per day (Bcf/d) market and creating opportunities and risks for potential market players in both Mexico and the U.S.

In response to the developing need for Mexican market transparency, Genscape, Inc., the world’s leading provider of real-time data and intelligence for commodity and energy markets, launched Mexico Natural Gas, the first product offering daily modeled estimates of Mexican natural gas supply and demand using data from 20 Mexican pipelines and three LNG terminals. Genscape’s models provide estimates at the national level, in six sub-regions, and 30 individual states. The product goes a step further and forecasts Mexican gas fundamentals out five years with monthly updates. The forecasts include major infrastructure projects in Mexico, which are tracked, analyzed, and provided in a searchable database as part of the product. Mexican pipeline notices and maintenance events are also included, and all pipeline systems and flows can be viewed in real-time in Genscape’s NatGas RT platform.

Extended coverage and transparency into this market is especially important given the size of the Mexican market, as well as its potential to provide a relief valve for swelling Permian production (and future Eagle Ford production growth). With Permian to Mexico activity in mind, and potential displacement of LNG imports, Genscape’s natural gas product provides a real-time lens for U.S. players interested in timely, granular estimates of cross-border pipeline flows and potential impacts. “The new product comes at a critical time in market history,” said Randall Collum, Managing Director of Natural Gas and Upstream Analytics. “This tool literally offers value each day as the Mexican market is incredibly active now and for the foreseeable future.”

The product is available through a number of current Genscape platforms. For trial requests and expanded product information, click here.
