The hose arm takes the hose to the top of a truck or tank car, relieving the operator of this hazardous chore. It helps to hold the hose up while the operator is making the connection. The arm also takes the hose back to the loading rack to be stored properly, either swung alongside the rack, or vertically folded upward.
