The Max-Amine GT-734S methyldiethanolamine (MDEA) solvent for removing carbon dioxide in gas processing applications offers a high capacity, chemical stability, and longer product life when compared to ethanolamines (MEA and DEA) and ethanolamine formulated solvents. It maintains its stability under high temperatures and high loadings. Because it does not form undesirable ethanolamine degradation products, the solvent avoids problems from higher corrosion and foaming rates, reduced treating capacity, and increased amine losses. Volatility balanced for low vapor pressure, the solvent is not lost with the treated gas streams, and its high reaction rate provides optimum effectiveness with limited contact time.
