ACHEMA 2000: Electrical Actuators

The PSL-AMS and PSQ-AMS actuators are, respectively, linear and quarter-turn units that employ the Profibus-DP standard for field communications. The units have built-in SPC3 application-specific integrated circuits (ASIC chips) and 9 LEDs for diagnosis of bus status. In addition to the Profibus compatibility, configurations compatible with Interbus, DeviceNet, CANOpen and Arcnet standards are under development. The PSL unit is intended for globe and diaphragm valves with actuation force of 1.0-25 kN, and the PSQ unit is for butterfly, ball, plug and segment ball valves requiring 35-700-Nm actuation. Both units can be provided with a supplemental "Energy Pack" for safety or emergency shutdown purposes.
