With its introduction in 1991, the Metorex's ARC-MET 900 represented a radical departure from the conventional design of optical emission analyzers used in the PMI and the production control in the metal industry.
The Second Generation of Mobile Emission Spectrometers
The ARC-MET 930 is the first truly portable OES-analyzer with no compromise on its analytical performance.Analysis of sulfur and phosphorus - long sought by steel manufacturers and dealers - is also now available in the ARC-MET analyzers.
ARC-MET's revolutionary design sets new performance standards for speed and accuracy of on-site analysis. Easy operation makes it excellent for routine alloy analysis from incoming inspection and the stockyard to the production floor and onto the shipping dock ARC-MET performance brings laboratory quality results to the production environment.
ARC-MET analyzers incorporate state- of-the-art technology to give them capabilities never before possible in mobile optical emission spectrometers.
Full Spectrum Measurement
Older approaches use "measurement channels", which limit analysis to pre selected elements. ARC-MET uses a 2048-element photodiode array detector to measure the entire spectrum even from 178 up to 340 nm. This eliminates the need for changing costly hardware when analytical requirements change. The result is greater analytical flexibility. There is also no interruption in the use of the analyzer.
