Burlington Chemical Issued Stain Blocking Patent
The Burlington Chemical Co. has been issued US Patent 5,820,638, "Stain Blocking Agent," for the development of technology to prevent the staining of synthetic fibers in dyeing polyester/celluloseand acetate/cellulose blends.
"The polyester/rayon and acetate/rayon markets continue to be mainstays for the apparel industry," said Samuel B. Moore, vice president of R&D, Burlington Chemical. "This new technology is being utilized to produce high quality acetate/rayon and polyester/rayon apparel fabrics using Burcosperse and Burco Direct dyes in combination with Burco Compatibilizer CSC."
According to Burlington Chemical, the technology minimizes direct dye cross-staining on adjacent synthetic fibers for improved shade control and high color-on white contrast. It is the first of several acetate and polyester dyeing technologies that are in the Company's commercial and R&D pipeline.
