The PTX diesel oxidation catalyst system helps reduce emissions from mining and materials handling equipment.

The new products combine metal monolith technology with catalyst technology, offering manufacturers several options for controlling emissions from forklifts and other diesel-powered equipment.

The system oxidizes hydrocarbons and carbon monoxide into carbon dioxide and water vapor, allowing for reduction of CO and HC emissions by up to 95%. It is also said to reduce particulate matter by up to 30% without causing an increase in sulfate emissions.

The design uses herringbone-patterned metal foil, which creates a cell structure that provides gas mixing for conversion efficiency. Optimum adhesion is achieved by increasing the porosity of the metal before coating.
