Central Hazardous Gas Alarm Control
Historically hazardous gas monitoring systems provided simple alarm output from individual detectors. When users required integration of alarm points they must either develop a system with extensive hard wires, shift alarm strategy and control to an external MMI package, or integrate a third party PLC. Each of these alternatives involves risk of error, multiple vendors, or a less robust system. The Commander is a solution to all of these problems. It interfaces with the Sentry hazardous gas risk management system. The Commander is a central processor providing consolidated alarm information, easy zone alarm development, printer or serial output and interface to plat-wide Ethernet in a single easily interfaced Sentry look-alike package. The result is a hazardous gas detection system with Ethernet access combined with comprehensive alarm management. It interfaces with up to seven Sentry controllers and 56 hazardous gas sensor modules.
