Source: Cetek Limited
Cetek Limited provides a range of cost efficient services to the HPI industry which improve process efficiency, especially in process heaters, for example reformers, vacuum heaters, HDD units and crude heaters, etc.

The full range of services offered by Cetek Limited is as follows:

  • Ceramic Coatings for Process Tubes
  • Ceramic Coatings for Refractories
  • Hot Tube Descaling Service (HTD)
  • Hot Convection Cleaning Service (HCC)
  • Inspection Services
  • Evaluation Services
  • On-line Refractory Maintenance and Repair Services
  • Conventional Refractory Maintenance & Repair Services
  • Refractory Dry-Out & Heat-Up Service by Hotwork
  • Vessel Stress Relieving
  • Process Heatups
  • Melt out of Crude and Other Viscous or Solid Materials
  • Coating Curing
  • Environmental Heating
The primary service is the application of ceramic coatings to the external surfaces of process tubes, to eliminate oxidation and scale build up, thereby permanently maximizing conductive heat transfer to the process, and to the surfaces of refractory linings in process heaters to enhance radiant heat transfer by increasing emissivity. This service will maintain processes at optimum levels or higher, thus providing extra capacity or fuel savings.

Typically, in UOP licensed Platforming Heaters*, it is possible to realize benefits of at least 7% in extra capacity. Units have shown up to 14% capacity gain.

The application of these coatings is especially beneficial where the process is heater limited, subject to firing limitations from scale formation, leading to high tube wall temperatures, or bridge wall/crossover temperature limited.

(* A Technology/Marketing Agreement is in place between Cetek Limited and UOP)
