Croll-Reynolds Clean Air Technologies awarded contract to install scrubbers and wet electrostatic precipitators at major mining operation

Croll-Reynolds Clean Air Technologies, Westfield, NJ, has been contracted to install two (2) air pollution control systems, consisting of proprietary scrubbers and condensing wet electrostatic precipitator (WESP™) at Kyanite Mining Corporation's (KMC) facilities in central Virginia.

The Croll-Reynolds system will be the centerpiece of a comprehensive plan that KMC has voluntarily initiated to lower its plants' combined emissions below the threshold amounts that would trigger regulation under Title V of the Clean Air Act. In doing so, the systems will be designed to control emissions streams produced during the thermal treatment of refractory materials and which may consist of solid submicron particles, sulfuric acid, oil mist, sulfur dioxide gas and carbon monoxide.

KMC produces Kyanite and mullite, which are used world wide in refractory, ceramic, glass and metallurgical/automotive products.

Croll-Reynolds Clean Air Technologies integrates wet scrubbers, wet electrostatic precipitators and carbon adsorbers into air pollution control systems that meet regulatory requirements, minimize energy usage, require little maintenance and are highly reliable. Pollutants abated include: sub-micron particulate, smoke, blue haze, oil mist, acid gases, dioxin/furans, heavy metals, mercury, VOCs and many others.
