Expansion Doubles Plant's Sulfur Handling Capacity
A major plant expansion of the unit treating amine acid gas at the Pinnacle Gas Treating—Bethel Treating facility is in the final installation phase and is expected to start on schedule in June 2008. This expansion will more than double the plant's sulfur handling capability from 9 long tons per day (LTPD) to 20 (LTPD). The addition of an 11 LTPD LO-CAT® Hydrogen Sulfide Treatment System from Merichem Company -- Merichem Gas Technologies of Merichem Chemicals & Refinery Services LLC is being configured to join existing LO-CAT systems to significantly expand gas treating capacity at the plant.
The existing 7 LTPD and 2 LTPD LO-CAT systems have been operating effectively since 1997 at Anadarko Petroleum Corporation's Pinnacle Bethel Gas Plant, near Bethel, TX.
The new LO-CAT ll® Autocirculation “box-style” System will match and link the two existing units and will add the capacity to treat up to 4MMSCFD amine acid gas, removing an additional 11 LTPD sulfur, with greater than 99.9% removal.
Anadarko provides gas producers a wide array of midstream services in East and West Texas, Southwest Kansas, Wyoming, Northwest Utah, Central Colorado and the Four Corners Area.
