Fisher-Rosemount Offers Total Solution For Gas Flow Measurement
Rosemount Analytical and Fisher Controls, both members of the Fisher-Rosemount group of companies, have combined to provide a total solution for gas flow measurement. By linking GCX Process Gas Chromatograph Transmitter with the Fisher FloBoss 407 Flow Manager, users can measure gas flow in BTUs per hour.
The GCX Process Gas Chromatograph Transmitter revolutionizes multi-component analysis, uniting the features of a traditional gas chromatograph in a transmitter package. Housed in a Class 1, Division 1, Group B enclosure, the GCX is suitable for applications in hazardous areas, eliminating the added expense of an instrument shelter. In addition, the GCX design eliminates the need for continuous purge, reducing overall operating costs. The GCX is smaller and lighter than traditional process chromatographs, allowing simplified installation closer to the process. This means shorter sample lag times and a reduction in installed cost.
The GCX features a modular design with a dual compartment enclosure that separates the instrument electronics from the sample analysis section. The GCX Easy-Slide oven, which incorporates all chromatographic components, can be removed and replaced in minutes, greatly reducing analyzer down time. THE GCX also features an integral sample-handling module, which can support both vapor and liquid applications, as well as Windows based MMI program for instrument operation and configuration.
The FloBoss 407 Flow Manager is a high-performance flow computer capable of measuring and controlling natural gas flow on up to four meter runs. It uses a high-accuracy multi-variable Rosemount sensor that can be integral to the unit or remote-mounted as in the case of multiple-run applications. FloBoss features an AGA-compliant gas calculation package and PID loop control using analog outputs. The unit can be programmed to perform logic functions and sequencing control as well.
The GCX and FloBoss 407 will support more than 80 standard process measurement applications for pipeline, chemical, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, waste gas incinerators, pure air, ultra-pure gas and environmental industries.
