Global Petroleum Show Ready For Increased International Delegations
Calgary - Global Petroleum Show (GPS) 2010, one of the world's largest oil and gas events, will be held in Calgary June 8 - 10, 2010. With market conditions steadily improving and key industry players hungry for new developments, this year's show is incredibly timely. More than 60,000 visitors from over 100 countries are expected at GPS 2010. Attendees will visit 2,000 exhibiting companies that cover approximately 650,000 net square feet at Calgary's Stampede Park, where exhibitors will showcase their latest technological innovations, products and services.
"2010 has brought many new and exciting developments and GPS is excited to host more than 100 countries and 60,000 registered attendees," said Wes Scott, Event Director for Global Petroleum Show. "With the economy showing signs of recovery, the petroleum industry is anxious to showcase state-of-the-art technologies and industry developments for the world's oil and gas sector."
GPS 2010 will showcase the latest innovations in technology and will present exciting events, allowing visitors to gain a thorough knowledge of the energy industry. These opportunities will run over the show's three day period, officially wrapping up on Thursday, June 10, 2010. Some key highlights include, but are not limited to:
- Global Petroleum Conference, presented in conjunction with Petroleum Technology Alliance Canada (PTAC), which focuses on the 'energy game changers' in the hydrocarbon energy industry. The three-day conference will feature more than 100 speakers comprised of top executives from both producing and operating companies, as well as service companies, government ministers, international experts and technology specialists.
- International Energy Ministers Forum - International energy leaders from Kuwait, Egypt and Qatar among others will share their visions on global supply and demand, enhancing recovery and protecting the environment.
- NEW Education Courses offer full day learning opportunities for both new and seasoned professionals in the oil and gas industry. These include Shale Gas Resource Development, Risk Management Strategies for Field Operations, Oilpatch 101, Oil Sands 101, and Heavy Oil Recovery Methods.
- NEW GPS Rodeo, where attendees see live bareback riding, mutton-busting, wild ponies, saddle-bronc riding and bull riding. The GPS Rodeo will be held daily from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. from June 8 - 10, 2010. In addition, the Freestyle Motocross Arena will host hospitality opportunities from 1:00 p.m. to 3:10 p.m. and 5 p.m. daily.
- Industry experts from major oil and gas producing regions will be talking about exciting business opportunities in their individual markets at Alberta International House (AIH). Led by the Government of Alberta, AIH brings together a number of partners, including foreign oil companies, governments, regulatory agencies and industry associations.
- NEW Free Technology Presentations for attendees in the BMO Centre will focus on drilling and production, enhanced recovery, and environmental technology techniques.
Along with these exciting features, GPS will host an Opening Night Reception for over 1,000 delegates where attendees will enjoy savoury hors-d'oeuvres and cocktails and will have the chance to get acquainted with the biggest players in the oil and gas industry. GPS will also present a leading technology showcase, featuring free presentations that focus on the latest available technologies in oil and gas as well as technology demonstrations where exhibitors will bring their equipment and give attendees a hands-on opportunity to see technology in action.
