CHEM SHOW '99: The company offers an extensive line of HazEx Solenoid Valves for safe and reliable operation in the most hazardous areas: Class I, II, & III, Division 1 and 2 locations. The valves meet the most rigorous tests of safety design and are compatible with Groups A, B, C, and D materials. Standard features include completely encapsulated T4 rated coils (max. surface temperature 275° F) and T6 rated coils (max. surface temperature 185° F), fused protection, and explosion-proof electrical conduit connections. The valves are suitable for demanding hazardous applications such as Refineries, Chemical Plants, Cogeneration Plants, and Power Plants.

The valves are offered in direct acting 2/2-way and 3/2-way types; internally piloted 3/2-way, 4/2-way, and 5/2-way types; pivoted armature versions with choice of direct acting of internally piloted 3/2-way types; and internally piloted spool valves for pneumatics with Universal or Namur fittings in 4/2-way and 5/2-way types. Optional manifold versions are also available. Orifice sizes range from 7/64 in. to 1 in.

Type 282/330/340 HazEx solenoid valves further feature the company's "Pivoting Armature." This design replaces the "up-and-down" actuator traditionally used in solenoid valves with a pivoting armature that completely isolates fluid media from the coil and all moving parts with a one-piece, elastomeric diaphragm. This elastomeric surface also acts as the orifice seal. All moving vomponents are protected from the corrosion and wear caused by normal exposure to fluids.
