Integrated Process Engineering System

Aspen Technology, Inc. is an integrated multi-user environment that allows engineers and applications to store, share, and use process data and knowledge throughout the engineering lifecycle of a process. This system allows process engineers to work together to quickly develop and evaluate process alternatives earlier, using a variety of integrated applications ranging from process synthesis to simulation to CAD.

It allows project teams to concurrently share data between applications and workgroups, and to automatically utilize past design knowledge and best practices. The system automates the generation of deliverables, such as equipment datasheets, equipment lists, and PFDs. It also enables error-free electronic transfer of process data to the detailed engineering phase.

This system's object-oriented data repository allows storage and concurrent multi-user access for engineering data from simulators, design programs, equipment sheets, CAD programs, and other engineering applications. Data is entered once, then shared by all. It allows companies to automate their engineering standards, design rules, and best practices for consistent use throughout the organization.
