Market Hub Partners Completes Massive Upgrades at Two Facilities

Market Hub Partners Storage, L.P. has completed installation of a sixth compressor at its Moss Bluff Gas Storage Facility in Liberty County, Texas, the largest separable reciprocating compressor unit ever built, and two additional compressors at its Egan Gas Storage Facility in Acadia Parish, Louisiana.

The Moss Bluff unit, which consists of an Ariel 8,000 horsepower six throw JGV/6 compressor driven by a Wartsilla 18 cylinder 18V34 engine, will increase the facility's installed compression to 22,031 horsepower and will allow natural gas to be injected into storage at an average rate of more than 425 million cubic feet per day (MMcf/d). The increase in storage and injection capacity complements the withdrawal capacity of 950 MMcf/d already available at Moss Bluff. The facility has direct pipeline interconnects with Natural Gas Pipeline of America, Channel, Texas Eastern, Midcon of Texas and Tejas Gas Pipeline.

The Egan units, with combined 8,900 horsepower, will increase the Louisiana facility's installed compression to 28,510 horsepower and will allow gas injection into storage at an average rate of more than 500 MMcf/d. Egan's withdrawal capacity is 1,200 MMcf/d. Egan has interconnects with ANR, Columbia Gas, Tennessee Gas, Texas Gas and Trunkline pipelines.
