Model 8051 Communications Bridge

The new powerful Model 8051 Communications Bridge solves the problem of linking Modbus devices to other systems in a facility. Whether the user has Modbus RTU, Modbus Plus, Modbus TCP, Modbus ASCII, or even special modifications to Modbus, the Bridge provides a gateway to other devices. Besides Modbus, protocols that can be translated by the Bridge include DF1, DH+, Genius, Speedtronics, Metasys N2, Lonworks, DeviceNet, Profibus and more. More protocol drivers are constantly under development to meet the user' s needs.

Interoperability is key to integration today. With the multitude of various PLCs, RTUs, SCADA and DCS in use in the process field and the need to have various systems interconnect, the Bridge is the easy solution to this major integration problem. Until now, such interoperability could only be achieved with system modifications, extensive programming, complicated connections, and many hours of effort. With the Bridge, system integration is simplified and reliable. Not only is less time and effort required to make the initial integration with the Bridge, but it is easy to make modifications as the system grows and changes.

The Communications Bridge can accept up to ten different serial inputs in addition to two Ethernet links and an additional port for special adapter cards. The user can include in a single Bridge multiple protocol drivers so that a single Bridge can provide the gateway link to a large number of different devices. The Bridge is UL approved.
