The new Barton MVX multivariable smart electronic transmitter not only provides process measurement variables (DP, Pressure, Temperature), but also calculates derivatives, such as square root and flow averages. The measurement transducer for the MVX system is Barton's high-accuracy ±0.1% FS integrated dual-pressure DPE™ microsensor.
When the MVX transmitter is coupled with Barton's enhanced performance Scanner™ 1131 EFM/RTU flow computer, the combination offers high-speed input sampling/averaging with an unbeatable price/performance ratio for natural gas flow measurement. The powerful MVX calculates flow extensions, freeing the Scanner 1131's 386-based CPU from these functions, allowing it more time to accommodate other tasks, such as more flowruns and expanded communications. This measurement and control platform is scaleable from a single stream wellhead through eight stream transmission measurement stations.
Field data collected by the MVX/1131 system is managed by the powerful Barton Data Management Suite (BDMS) of software. It features ScanBase™ 2.0 to electronically manage data for custody transfer operations, including continuous remote field automation with data validation from a desktop PC. Scan-Opª, the newest addition to BDMS, provides a simple field interface to collect RTU data at the wellsite in a format that operators will find easy to access, download and view.
