Ingersoll-Dresser Pumps, a leading manufacturer of pumps for industrial applications, now offers PumpTrac, a remote terminal unit (RTU) and associated software and instrumentation to diagnose pump problems, and to monitor pump performance. The package comes in three versions: PumpTrac I, for "do-it-yourself" monitoring; PumpTrac II, which provides a data link to IDP; and PumpTrac III, for on-call engineering resources to monitor and support the pumping installation.

All three are available for horizontal or vertical pump packages. Bearing vibration, suction and discharge conditions and motor current are standard. Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) analysis of vibration data can be provided, with a frequency resolution of 0.5 to 4 kHZ. The RTU is constructed of a NEMA Type 4X enclosure, with water- and dust-tight gasketing, and is rated for hazardous areas.
