Orbital Acquires Analect Instruments
Analect will be merged into the Applied Instrument Technologies business in Orbital's Sensor Systems Division in Pomona, CA. Applied Instrument Technologies currently manufactures and sells on-line process analyzers which include the PIONIR, MGA, and CS 200 product lines. In addition to selling these product lines into the same markets as Analect, Orbital also sells into the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, aerospace, and steel industries.
Orbital's Applied Instrument Technologies will manufacture and distribute the Analect products from its plant in Pomona, CA. Mr. Joseph V. LaConte, Vice President of <%=company%> said "Analect products complement Orbital's extensive array of instrument systems and technological capabilities, provide an entry into the chemical and polymer markets, and will improve sales distribution and service to Orbital's existing and new customers."
Analect currently has a customer base that includes over 300 successful on-line installations. The FT-IR analyzers, specifically designed for flexibility and ruggedness, are used by companies such as Dow Chemical, DuPont and Exxon to help optimize their processes. Additionally, Analect products are used in environmental monitoring and process development applications. "The acquisition of Analect will position Orbital as a leading manufacturer of process analytical instruments and will give us the ability to offer more technology solutions to the market", said Mr. LaConte.
