Parker Drilling Company is a worldwide service company providing drilling and rental tool services to the energy industry. Parker operates in the transition zones in the Gulf of Mexico, Nigeria, the offshore waters in the Gulf of Mexico and on land in international and domestic oil and gas producing regions.

Parker Drilling is a pioneer in various land drilling markets. Parker's helicopter-transportable rig technology has established the company as the dominant operator of heli-rigs in remote and virtually inaccessible areas, such as jungle, mountain and desert locations. The company is also noted for its deep and difficult drilling expertise, worldwide logistics/labor management capabilities, arctic and geothermal drilling specialties.

In the last three years Parker Drilling diversified into the offshore drilling business through the acquisition of two leading offshore drilling contractors Mallard Bay Drilling, Inc. and Hercules Offshore Corp. After these acquisitions, Parker has become the second-largest barge drilling and workover company in the transition zones in the Gulf of Mexico and also in the transition zone waters of Nigeria. Parker has also become a leading provider of shallow-water jackup and platform drilling and workover services in the Gulf of Mexico. In addition, Parker acquired Quail Tools, Inc., a leading provider of specialized rental equipment for drilling and workover operations, primarily in the Gulf of Mexico.

Historically, Parker Drilling has been an industry pioneer in opening new drilling markets, such as China, the former Soviet Union and Vietnam. To date, the Company has operated in 49 countries around the world.
