ScanOp EFM/RTU Gas Flow Software

Barton ScanOp is the newest addition to the Barton Data Management Suite (BDMS) of software tools for natural gas custody transfer data collection and management with the Scanner 1100 Series of EFM/RTU flow computers.

ScanOp provides a simple field interface for communication with RTUs to collect system, hardware and flowrun data at the wellsite in a format that operators will find easy to access, download and view. As a field "gateway", ScanOp is integral to moving data from the field to its final destination in accounting, engineering, gas control and marketing.

To simplify operator interpretation the user-friendly ScanOp graphical format incorporates traditional elements of the chart recorder, such as displaying conventional color-coded curves for DP, pressure and temperature. For more precise analysis, operators can toggle to a detailed spreadsheet data format.

ScanOp operates in three flexible modes. In the Direct Mode ScanOp is password protected and allows for access to live values. Operational and historical data are retrieved and stored, including flow rates, flow totals, pressure, DP and temperature. Operators can perform routine functions such as changing orifice plates and gas composition, plus downloading data to a BDMS Catalog Database.

The Remote Mode accommodates a broad range of communications media to allow on-line data analysis and system troubleshooting without visiting the site.

The Offline Mode lets operators view and analyze historical information using data saved in a BDMS Catalog Database.
