Chromalox® announces availability of its new Model 2110 Single-Loop Temperature Controller, the only microprocessor-based controller of this type that can be configured and operated without programming. With its unique start-up simplicity, a Model 2110 user can have a process up and running in three easy steps: 1) Select sensor type via external switches, 2) Hook up the system and 3) Set temperature. Temperature regulation features include On-Off or Proportional-Integral (PI) modes to control heating with either a J or K thermocouple or RTD input. The Model 2110 comes in a ¼ DIN package that requires less than four inches behind the mounting surface of its 4"H x 4"W NEMA 4X front panel. Typical applications include heat sealing, packaging equipment, platens/presses, tank heating, and surface heating/heat trace cable.

Flexible Control Features. The Model 2110's modular design uses field replaceable, plug-in output cards, including high current versions for direct control of many cartridge and strip heaters. For large three-phase loads, cards are available with either electromechanical pilot relays or solid-state drives to activate power control devices. Select from any of six output types:

  • 1 Amp Electromechanical Relay
  • 20 Amp Electromechanical Relay
  • Solid State Relay Drive (nominal 24 VDC at 40 mA)
  • 1 Amp Solid State Relay
  • 5 Amp Solid State Relay
  • 10 Amp Solid State Relay

An optional Alarm Output provides a non-latching, normally de-energized, 1 Amp relay output for over- or under-temperature protection of critical processes.

The Model 2110 features an attractive, compact design that both OEMs and users will find cost effective. Its front panel comes with tactile feedback push-buttons that allow even the heaviest gloved hand to configure the controller. Large, bright LED's provide an easy-to-read temperature display spanning -300 to +2400 °F (-184 to +1316 °C), plus LOAD and ALARM indicators. The unit is UL and cUL listed.
