StarPoint SP9500 Now Integrated With EMQuest™ For 5G Wireless Device Test Requirements

Convenient Turnkey Solution Available to Meet 3GPP R15 Specifications

CEDAR PARK, Texas – ETS-Lindgren announced the integration of the StarPoint SP9500 test instrument and platform with its CTIA-compliant EMQuest™ Antenna Measurement software.   The integration expands ETS-Lindgren's turnkey 5G test solutions for its customers.   EMQuest now supports the StarPoint SP9500 Communication Test Set, the world's first testing platform that fully meets the requirements of 100 MHz channel bandwidth for 5G New Radio (NR) nodes including FR1 (sub6 GHz band), carrier aggregation, downlink 8-stream/uplink 4-stream MIMO, and other characteristics as defined in the 3GPP R15 wireless device test specification.   In addition, the SP9500 can be used for fully functional 5G base station emulation with all wireless test set functions such as connection, coverage performance, and RF characteristic analysis.  Using a multiple test configuration, larger scale MIMO and carrier aggregation may be supported to address the evolution of future technologies.  The integration is ideal for ETS-Lindgren's global customer requirements for current and future turnkey 5G test solutions.

"We have had a long and fruitful collaboration with StarPoint. We started by making drivers for their TD-SCMDA communication tester nearly 10 years ago," said Michael Christopher, Director of Software Engineering, with ETS-Lindgren.  "Since then, we were encouraged by our application engineers in our Beijing and Taipei offices to bring support for the SP9500 into EMQuest.  After extensive testing and numerous adjustments working closely with StarPoint and our Asia based engineering team, we are excited to announce the successful integration of StarPoint and EMQuest.  I'm very proud of the dedication, diligence, and engineering capabilities of the entire team that accomplished this achievement, especially since the last few months of work could only be done remotely, across many time zones."

ETS-Lindgren will begin shipping these drivers this month to EMQuest customers.   "We're happy to join other leading wireless companies such as Apple, Google, Huawei, China Mobile, Qualcomm, and Samsung, to name a few, as a collaborative partner with StarPoint," added Mr. Christopher.
