Sun Drilling Products Corporation was founded in 1965 and is now a leading manufacturer, supplier and distributor of many proprietary patented oil field products, equipment and services. The company exclusively markets specialty products and systems that solve drilling problems. Sun does not sell commodity products and, therefore, is not as greatly impacted by swings in the industry as would be expected. Suns headquarters and manufacturing facilities are located in Belle Chase, LA (a suburb of New Orleans) with district offices and distribution centers located throughout the Gulf Coast (including Houston), and Canada. Other selective locations throughout the world include Canada, Aberdeen, Venezuela and Columbia. More recently new offices have been set up in Mexico, and Norwich, England with responsibility for Eastern Hemisphere operations. Sun Drilling Products recently completed the purchase of Coastal Superior Solutions of Louisiana. Coastal pioneered and patented the use of PAO's as water base mud additives in its proprietary product line. Leading operators such as Chevron, Amoco, Texaco, Arco, Tenneco, ADTI, Mobil, Shell either utilise or have used Coastal products, such as Coastal Spot, CoastaLube or the recently introduced emulsification package, 'C-Mul', compatible with any water base mud. SDPC have extensive laboratory facilities in Belle Chase and Houston, The company is ready to offer these facilities to any customer who wishes to refine, develop or test current or new products in an attempt to solve their drilling problems.

Apart from the specialty drilling products, we are also able to offer Bead Recovery units. This allows our LubraGlide copolymer beads to be recycled in an active mud system, allowing the operator the comfort level of vastly reduced torque and drag levels, so important when drilling high-angle, horizontal and extended reach wells.

The company is an acknowledged expert in drilling fluid technology and provides products, systems and services to all major and many independent oil companies, drillers and mud companies throughout the world.
