U.S. Filter/Johnson Screens Acquires WMW Industries

Rounding out its selections of profile wire and wire cloth for industrial applications, U.S. Filter/Johnson Screens has purchased WMW Industries (Houston, Texas). WMW has three divisions: Wesco, Williams & Mettle and Niagara Screen. Wesco makes profile wire screens for chemical, oil and gas, petrochemical and water applications; Williams & Mettle are primarily manufacturers of screens for plastics and elastomer extrusions. The Wesco group will continue to serve clients from its facilities in Houston, St. Catharines, Ontario and Somerville, N.J..

U.S. Filter/Johnson Screens is a St. Paul, Minn., division of U.S. Filter Corp. (Palm Desert, Calif.), the world's largest manufacturer of water and wastewater treatment systems.
