Virtual Lab CD-ROM Tour

PerkinElmer Instruments, Inc.rtual Lab Tour is an interactive CD-ROM designed to provide insight into environmental applications, technologies and support for environmental laboratory needs. The tour covers a variety of perspectives like water, soil/hazardous waste, air, or industrial hygiene. Users can access the technologies and explore the features of each technology. Graphics and sound are used to explain environmental techniques ranging from inductively coupled plasma to portable gas chromatography.

The lab tour is split into four application sections, each ending with specific printable application notes. Information on how to choose among the inorganic technologies is considered using analytical capabilities, regulatory approvals, and business criteria for evaluation. A financial section for lab managers is also featured. To run the tour, users must have at least a Microsoft Windows 95 or Windows NT operating environment, 120 MHz Pentium processor, screen resolution of 600x800 or higher, 16-bit sound card and speakers, 16 MB of RAM, and 25 MB of free hard drive space.
