Slots as narrow as 0.002-in. and up in 0.001-in increments allow precise matching of the screen to the aquifier materials. The size of the slot openings is controlled within 0.0001-in. to prevent sand from entering the well where it can cause pump wear and eventual well failure.
Every well screen is made with a continuous slot spiraling around the complete screen length. This slot is inwardly enlarging, allowing only two-point particle contact which substantially reduces the chance of plugging.
